Job Description/Requirements

Duties:

a)       Attend to guests upon entrance.
b)       Understand, present menus and help guests select food/beverages.
c)       Take/serve orders and answer questions or make recommendations for other products.
d)       Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude.
e)       Prepares room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments,  napkins, service plates, and utensils, with special attention to sanitation and order.
f)        Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
g)       Helps guests select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails and aperitifs; suggesting courses; explaining the chef’s specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions.
h)       Transmits orders to bar and kitchen by recording guest’s choices; identifying guest’s special dietary needs and special requests.
i)         Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression.
j)         Serves orders by picking up and delivering guests choices from bar and kitchen; delivering accompaniments from service bars.
k)       Responds to additional guest requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining process.
l)        Arrange table and maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert or other special needs.
m)       Concludes dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant;  inviting guest’s to return.
n)       Obtains revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; delivering bill and payment to host person; returning change or credit card and signature slip.
o)       Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
p)       Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  • Five years experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Diploma in Hotel  Management
  • Ability to handle customer complaints
